A Desperate Bid

This is where you may go

This is what you may grow

This is where you may drink

This is when  you may wink

This is what you can wear

This is what you may bare

This is who you may love

This is how you stay above

This is what you must pay

This is where you may pray

This is how you may worship

This is where to send the  warship

This is what you may smoke

This is how you may joke

This is how you may breed

This is what you may read

This is where you may go

This is who is now your foe

This is how you must heal

This is when you may appeal

This is where you may speak

This is what you must seek

This is how you may work

This is where you may walk

This is who you may elect

This is who you may suspect

This is where you may apply

This is where you may fly

This is what you may possess

This is how you must dress

This is what you can read

This is the most you may speed

This is all you may say

This is what you must pay

These are few of our decrees

This is how freedom feels

This is where you are free

This is where you must agree

Tell momma I was good

Tell momma I was good

I stopped the moment you asked me

Tell momma I was good

I was walking home with a friend

Tell momma I was good

I was polite and raised my hands

Tell momma I was good

I called you “Sir” as I spoke

Tell momma I was good

I saw the panic in your eyes

Tell momma I was good

I fell prostrate at your command

Tell momma I was good

I heard the fear in your voice

I had no weapon except my skin

Tell momma I was good

I had no crack except my creed

Tell momma I was good

I felt your odium as you did the search

Tell momma I was good

I should be free I passed the quest

Tell momma I was good

I saw your smirk and heard your flak

Tell momma I was good

I heard the blast and hearing is done

Tell momma I was good

I felt the stab as you pulled the catch

Tell momma I was good

You spilled my gore and smoked my brains

Tell momma I was good

You changed the story and saved your barge

Tell momma I was good

You planted the pistol and painted the proof

Tell momma I was good

You sold the whopper and courted the press

Tell momma I was good

You are the hero that crushed the zero

Tell momma I was good

The harm is done and I am gone

Tell momma I was good

The hurt she feels will be forever

Tell momma I was good

The questions she has are a million and one

Tell momma I was good

Can I at least ask one last favor

Tell momma I was good

Can you tell my momma that  I was good

Tell momma I was good

For you alone are the only witness

Tell momma I was good

You alone and the thirty-seven leads

Tell momma I was good

The deed is done but please do one more

Tell momma I was good

In response to the daily prompt witness

Synergy

So easy to forget how

Little blobs of water

Make a fearsome sea

So easy to forget how

A journey of a million miles

Begin with a single move

So easy to forget how

The small things of life

Add up to true happiness

So easy to forget  how

A miniature leak

Empties a great reservoir

So easy to forget how

A small hurt from a hideous past

Spawns a lifetime of agony

So easy to forget how

A beggar makes a million alms

One Samaritan at a time

So easy to forget

How  negligible small things

Make all the big difference

So easy to forget

The million acts of practices

That produced a perfect art

So easy to forget

The the elegant opulence of energy

That lies in the synergy of small things

River Bird

River bird, river bird

What bothers you today

I wish the bittern would think

That my pitch was loud as it goes

River bird, river bird

What bothers you today

I wish the coot would think

That my beak was white as snow

River bird, river bird

What bothers you today

I wish the curlew would think

That my legs were long as a mile

River bird, river bird

What bothers you today?

I wish the crane would think

My neck was high as the hill.

River bird, river bird

What bothers you today

I wish the duck would think

My feet were webbed and wholesome

River bird, river bird

What bothers you today

I wish the ibis would think

I would be cool in the tropics.

River bird, river bird

What bothers you today

I wish the kingfisher would think

I am adorned with blue and orange

River bird, river bird

What bothers you today

I wish the cygnet would think

I was white and cool as others

River bird, river bird

What bothers you today

I wish that you will think through

Why you bother as much as me
