You can cry a river
Or a cupful of soul
You may shed
Till the tears make rhythms
Like mallets on marimbas
The heart can still perceive
What the eyes can still receive
A stream of tears
Never suffices
Never drowns
The eyes that strewn it
But you must be valiant
Dare to open those eyes
To see the things up on high
Always
At the obscure corner
Of scrutiny
There lies a different view
Other than the one
That snuffs your breath
The monsters that lie before you
Have powers much less than
Your view of them

Sometimes the different view takes too long to be noticed and our monsters keep getting stronger with time. It’s destiny whether we are meant to stand the test of time or let the monsters win.
Empowering post !!

I especially like the phrase “at the obscure corner of scrutiny.” I think that captures well the difficult task of finding another perspective.

absolutely brilliant writing – two different viewpoints – very difficult to perceive and accept one while focussing on the other.

Why do I miss the quote here? that you’d put at the end of every poetry

Well, I knew there were always some outliers out there who take note of everything and never miss anything. Thanks for reading and for setting me straight. I have fixed it. 🙂

I was made in West Africa. Although the instrument is not called “Marimba” in West Africa, it is known by other names a d played there nonetheless. especially in modern day Mali and olden day Gold Coast( Now Ghana). Where are you from? Thank you for your outpouring of love on my blog.💕😍💞🌼☺🌸
