I lie awake
Speaking mysteries
Only to the skies
They speak calmly
Whispering monotones
Serene changes
Except for their eyes
That blink and stare
Once crimson
Then yellow
But now the hues
have gone astray
The brilliant mellow
Won’t stay
Mind your budget
She says
Fix your gadgets
Adjust your bubble
You get to be
The boss of one
The sky won’t budge
And men won’t bend
The snow must fall
You be you
And that is all
You get to do
A perceptive comment on life and relationships.

The ebb and flow of human relationships is constant. This is what I remember reading this poem.

Beautiful, the sky the clouds so wise if we listen and look, for those who know the skies will always be in tune with life and Earth. The Sky is Earth’s canopy a layer of love.

I like the ending. All we can do is live our pre written story and be true to what we have to do. Nice one Ayoka!!

Beautiful poem . You be you have defined the whole poem and the meaning so well. Things will come like a roller coaster but managing things with self confidence and identity makes a whole lot of difference. Never change yourself for the sake of others.

A good reminder on days like today when invented “emergencies” blare from the news. I can only be me and follow God’s leading for my particular life.

Some people abdicate their right to be the boss of one; a pathetic surrender.
