Puncture

You ruptured my tire and my desire

You threw beckons and heavens at others

I could only envy so many a plenty

I trudge forwards choking on your words

Oblivious of the ditch that lies  in my pitch

The lemons you threw in my avenue

Saved me a stellate a bullet and a pellet

I never knew how a new bad fortune

Could ever save me from a worse  misfortune

Gates Of Earth

When I was coming here

The gates of earth demanded

What my quest on the globe would be

I wanted to go and see sunshine

To perceive the thrills of  happiness

To discern the joys of living

To trade and earn the whole earth

To choose all my battles

And say a million hellos

But the gates of earth were fastened

Sending me back to the threshing pool

Deeming  my unreadiness  for life

Back I went pleading

To see the gloomy as well as the sunny days

To feel the  pains as much as the pleasures

To bear the losses along with the  gains

To say goodbyes as much as hellos

To fail as often as necessary

Only then were the gates unbolted

I was ready to do my time

For life is bound to happen

Someday, sometime or somewhere

As it does to all men

Born and Bred

The queen wants to have you

But you are mine and we are miners

She wants to serve you oats

But you delight in virgin honey

Her minstrels could play the famous flutes

But the talking drums rock moving melody

She wants to pour some lavender and powder

You are spiced  with nectar and shea butter

To give you a face-lift and some make-up

But you are adorned with pride and purpose

Her rolls of blanket are cute and cozy

You are warm in straps of sheep’s fleece

Her castle is fortified with mortar and men

Your bamboo house is warm and loving

She has a multitude of nightingales

The caring arms of folks embrace you

She has a fleet of Rolls-Royce

Your horses are ready to render and race

She wants to shield you from the rainfall

We love to see your dance steps  in the rain

She wants to make you a star in glitz

But you are bright and rare as can be

The queen wants to have you

But you are mine and we are miners

She wants you to have

A greener pasture

And lots of tons of more

But you are happy

Right here

But you are happy

Right now
