Nothing

I tried solitude

And the long ethereal walks

In the woods

Tried sobbing night

After day

Clearing no cobwebs

Of remorse

I tried soaking

In a marathon swim

But tears refuse to heal

And water

Rebuffed a cleanse

I tried chatting cuties

Talking to anyone

About everything

And when  there was nought

I found a shrink

Who took the money

But not the pain

Nothing quenches

The flames

Nothing

Nothing fills

The voids

Since you walked

Away

Jump

All that life gave me

 A blindfold

A seat on the fence

A straightjacket on the sidelines

A bet with a limb

A chance of aphakia

A race with a limp

A back on the edge of

A cliff

And yet

A kind whisper of

A word

Answering all my questions but

Allaying not my fears

A mumble

A chime that resonated with “Jump”

Jeopardize

Never again will I jeopardize
That’s a promise I’ll memorize
Real love never dies

–  A quote by SPM

Let us remember never to jeopardize love for lust. A new thing is not necessarily better than a good thing.
