Too Close To Home

Last night I had a dream

I  saw a genus of winners

Clutching their trophies of destiny

I opted to pursue mine

With a uniform of grit

And a tenacity of purpose

I scurried with all resolve

And climbed all obstacles with purpose

My willpower  was flexed to the limits

With each fall I rose with more drive

I bolted a marathon of intent

But alas!

I was too close to home

When I missed my target

And had a pity party

I asked the group of victors

What else I could have done

Nothing more  but one thing

They vouchsafed the secret

The tidbit of breakthroughs lies in this

To do it all over and again

Never resigning to fate

Until you hit the kismet
